On the night of June 15th 2023, I got to live out one of my bucket lists to record at The Legendary Sun Studio in Memphis, Tennessee. What was even better was I got to share the experience with my son Zach, and also my wife Delise was there supporting us.

We recorded the vocals, piano and hammond on 4 original songs and also recorded a few more cover songs just sitting around and singing with the Wurlitzer piano. Most of the songs were written in Melbourne, Australia before our trip and either finished or refined at a Memphis motel.

Prior to us coming to Memphis the drums and guitar tracks were recorded at - Time is Tight Studio in Melbourne, by my good buddies Frank Carnovale on guitars and Ross Puglisi on drums. It was fantastic to have them play on some of these tracks.

Walking up to the studio door from the back carpark, I felt emotional and also nervous as it dawned on me that this holy grail of a place was where so many of my musical heroes had been before - Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash, BB King, Carl Perkins, to name a few.

We were welcomed in by Daniel and Lydia who were so great and provided an amazing atmosphere for us to enjoy the space and make music.
